Marginalia

These works are painting-based assemblages that celebrate the domestic space as a place of dignity and strength. Found objects or materials from the home are strategically placed against a formalist backdrop; saturated fields of color referencing abstraction and minimalism, are interrupted by three­-dimensional shelves that act as both formal elements and functional shelves that support an object in space. These shelves break directly into the space of the viewer and offer a new vision of a domestic object as relic or icon, the everyday elevated to the rare; domestic objects perceived as inconsequential become prime art objects, worthy of value and consideration.
